Green

Ok, so vacation isn't coming along so well.  All those pictures are so overwhelming.  Maybe over time (or when we get a newer, faster computer instead of this old dinosaur) I can get them up here and memories preserved.  Until then, once we were home from West Point, I took on the task of changing Owen's room to a shared room with Aaron.  That meant boxing up all of Owen's stuff and finding a way to squeeze his necessities and Aaron's in one tiny room.  And I mean tiny.  So tiny that my 50mm is too long to get a shot of the complete room.

Instead here's a picture of super hero Aaron on his bed, a picture I took to send Owen to show him the new color; Fairway Green.

And Lauren chose green for her room as well; Lime Green.

I was hesitant when they both said they wanted green rooms.  I thought Aaron would have gone with a lighter green but he first chose the darkest green he could find.  I persuaded him to go with something lighter and wasn't sold, but saw it as a compromise.  And Lauren kept saying she wanted neon green, but chose the above when she couldn't find one that specifically said "neon".  Once I started painting, I knew the colors were perfect for each room and now we all love them.

Lauren loves having her room to herself again, and Aaron has settled into a room of his (mostly) own quite nicely.  Of course, he has a gazillion stuffed animals to keep him company at night, and three night lights (2 stuffed animal and one wall).

All in all, we've settled into a family of four well.  We still miss Owen and look forward to having him home at Thanksgiving.  Hopefully by then, we'll have found a place to put the 10 boxes of stuff that came out of his room!
