8th Grade Social

Lauren's school had a semi formal dance last Friday.  We have been so busy that when Lauren asked if we could go look for a dress, I really didn't know when we'd squeeze it in.  I planned on taking her Wednesday evening, but while I was running errands that afternoon, I came across a couple of dresses I thought she might like.  This is the one that she really liked and that fit her the best.  It has sparkles in it and a ruffle underneath to make it extra girly.

 

As I've said before Lauren is not much of a girly girl.  But she was really excited about the dance and getting a new dress.  And she wanted to wear her hair down, which she did all evening!  I'm glad I didn't drop the ball on this one.  I forget about girly things because she's just not interested, but once I heard the words "semi-formal" I figured I'd better make the effort to find something appropriate for her. 

 

I was so happy to see her so excited about the dance, and the new dress.  Chalk up another one for mom not missing the boat!
