The end of school is always busy, but with a senior in the house it's been even busier. My nephew, Ryne, and Owen are both Class of 2014 high school graduates, and we had a joint party for them this past weekend. It was so much fun and we had lots of family/friends come and celebrate with us. These pictures are just highlights of the graduates and how we customized the party to celebrate them.
Ryne will be attending UNC-CH (my alma mater!) and Owen West Point. My brother bought flags to represent each school. And he was sweet enough to send the West Point flag home with us!
My sister in law and I ordered cakes as well. They turned out awesome and tasted just a good as they looked.
I tortured the boys with lots and lots of photos. Even though Owen hasn't graduated yet, we had them both dress in their caps and gowns for a few pictures. They chose to be goofy while I snapped away.
Although most of the party was decorated with Carolina and West Point colors, my sister in law decorated this hutch with some of their high school paraphernalia, both of which are blue and yellow.
The picture display above shows many of the pictures I(mostly) have taken of these two together since Owen was born. I love that I have reminders of how these two have been friends over the years, even though they've always lived 3 hours apart. I remember growing up with lots of cousins to play with and even though we don't see each other that often now, I cherish the times we do get together. With so many ways to keep in touch these days I hope Owen and Ryne remain a part of each others lives, and continue to be good friends.
